Coronavirus cases in Florida surpassed 50,000 on Saturday, nearly three months after the first case in the state was announced.
Deaths also increased by 44, making the state total 2,312. There were five new deaths in the Tampa Bay area.
On Friday, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced more rollbacks on coronavirus restrictions, saying he’d lift restrictions on youth activities like sports and camps.
