UC Davis Raptor Center coming to Pena Adobe Sept. 2

LAGOON VALLEY — The University of California, Davis, Raptor Center and its birds of prey will visit Pena Adobe Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 2, the Pena Adobe Historical Society announced.

The Raptor Center is expected to bring several of its non-releasable birds that include golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, great horned owls and American kestrels.

Representatives will both show off the birds and answer questions from visitors.

The 175-year-old Peña Adobe and the adjacent Mowers-Goheen Museum will also be open. The event is free and there is no charge for admission into the historical park, adobe or museum. For information, call 447-0518 or email penaadobe@gmail.com.

The park is located at Peña Adobe Road off of Interstate 80 west of Vacaville next to Lagoon Valley Park.
