Muse Retro Portable Cassette Player with Bluetooth & Headphones

The mixtape ritual, brought back to life

The Muse Retro Portable Cassette Player with Bluetooth Transmitter & Headphones | M-136 WM is a modern take on the personal cassette Walkman of the 1980s and 1990s, designed for anyone who values the ritual and tangible experience of physical media. This product is built around nostalgia, about being reminiscent of a bygone era, and about reconnecting with the music you grew up with, like your old “mix” tapes or just discovering the beautiful format of tape. Insert a cassette, press play, and rediscover the pleasure of listening to an album from start to finish, the way it was intended.

Retro styling with modern convenience

The M-136 WM evokes the classic Walkman aesthetic, but it does not ask you to sacrifice modern convenience. The built-in Bluetooth transmitter allows you to listen wirelessly on contemporary Bluetooth headphones or speakers, freeing you from the tether of a cable. At the same time, the 3.5mm headphone jack ensures you can plug in and listen immediately without pairing delays, using the included wired stereo headphones or any standard pair you already own. The USB-C charging port eliminates the need for proprietary chargers or disposable batteries, making it easy to top up the 1600mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery between listening sessions. This is a product that bridges analog nostalgia and digital convenience, allowing you to enjoy your cassette collection without being tethered to wired headphones if you choose not to be.

Bluetooth transmission for wireless listening

The Bluetooth transmitter is the key modern upgrade. It wirelessly streams cassette audio to Bluetooth headphones or speakers within 8 metres, so you can listen across the room or on the move without being tied to the player. Pairing is automatic when you press the Bluetooth button, and the dual-colour LED indicator (blue for Bluetooth, red for charging) gives you instant visual feedback on connectivity and battery state. The M-136 WM can transmit to one Bluetooth device at a time, but it also allows simultaneous wired and Bluetooth listening, so two people can listen to the same cassette using different output methods. This is particularly useful for sharing a mixtape with a friend, one using wired headphones and the other using Bluetooth earbuds.

Portable and lightweight for everyday carry

At 220g, the cassette player slips into a jacket pocket or small bag without adding noticeable bulk. The compact yet strong aluminium-alloy construction measures 11.9cm x 9.9cm x 3.18cm, making it easy to carry on a commute, a walk, or an afternoon in the park with a stack of mixtapes. The included shoelace rope lanyard attaches to the integrated holder, keeping the player secure and accessible during active use. This is a product designed to be taken with you, just as you might have done with a Walkman decades ago.

Simple controls and semi-auto stop

The M-136 WM features four cassette control keys (play, stop, fast-forward, rewind) and three general control keys (Bluetooth pairing, volume up, volume down), providing tactile, intuitive control without needing to look at the unit. The semi-auto stop function protects the tape from wear by stopping automatically at tape end, eliminating the need to monitor playback. This is a thoughtful detail that extends the life of your cassettes and removes the worry of leaving the player running after the tape has finished.

Wired headphones included for immediate use

The box includes retro-styled over-ear headphones with a 1.2m cable and 32Ω impedance, so you can start listening immediately without needing to source compatible headphones. The headphones are not studio-quality, but they are good enough to let you enjoy your cassettes with the understanding that cassette audio has its own character: warmth, slight hiss, the occasional wow and flutter. This is part of the charm, and the included headphones deliver that experience without fuss.

Rechargeable battery for extended listening

The 1600mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides approximately 5 hours of playback at 50% volume after a full charge, supporting extended listening sessions without needing mains power or disposable batteries. Charging takes around 4 hours via the included USB-C cable, which can be plugged into any USB power source. The player stops automatically when the battery is too low to operate, and the red LED indicator shows charging progress. This is a practical, low-maintenance power solution that fits into modern daily life.

The Muse Retro Portable Cassette Player with Bluetooth Transmitter & Headphones | M-136 WM is a bridge between analog nostalgia and digital convenience, designed for anyone who wants to reconnect with the music they grew up with or have just discovered, the way it was meant to be heard. With its retro styling, modern Bluetooth transmission, and all-in-one package (player, headphones, charging cable, carrying strap), it is a sentimental purchase driven by the desire to enjoy the ritual and tangible experience of physical media. Order the M-136 WM today and rediscover the pleasure of listening to a cassette from start to finish.
